This Viking Age Gotland belt fitting in Ringerike style was handcrafted from robust bronze. The original was found on the Swedish island of Gotland and dated to the 11th century, the end of the Viking Age. This replica shows a Viking Age knot pattern in Ringerike style and is suitable for 2 cm wide leather belts as a strap fitting or even an end piece. As archaeological finds show, the back of such fittings had long pins that served as fasteners. These were pushed through the leather and then carefully hammered flat. This Viking belt fitting is perfect for early medieval reenactors and those skilled in crafts who prefer to make their own unique Viking Age equipment.
