The Völundr Viking brooch from Uppakra is a detailed and elaborate replica of a find from Uppakra/Sweden. The original, which had 3 rivet remnants, was probably more of a fitting, but this piece of jewelry was repurposed into a Viking brooch that doesn't have to hide from the original. The entire brooch uses the so-called Borre style for its decoration and depiction, which is also chronologically appropriate for the find. On the back there is a pin that you can use to fasten it to your Viking garment, and an eyelet also allows the replica to be worn as an amulet or to hold a chain.
Völundr, also known as Wayland the Smith, is a demigod figure from Germanic mythology who found his way into the Norse narrative where he forged his own wings to perform legendary deeds. The Völundr Viking brooch from Uppakra in Borre style is a wonderful gift and piece of jewelry for Viking fans and reenactors.
