This striking Viking amulet from Snoring in Borre style was replicated from robust bronze. Found in Snoring/England, it is proof of the flourishing trade in jewelry within Europe in the Early Middle Ages, as almost identical pieces of jewelry were found in Varby/Sweden and Haithabu/Germany, where even a casting mold for such a griffin pendant was discovered.
