Viking Bronze Clamp for DIY Knife Making
This early medieval Viking ferrule was made of sturdy bronze and is intended for DIY knife making. It has a recess for the knife blade to close it towards the knife handle and is ideal for small and medium knife blades with a blade width of 1.8 to 2 cm, but can easily be widened with a fine file. The fitting is decorated with a Viking Age jewelry style. In the Early Middle Ages, a ferrule prevented the handle from splitting when "inserting" the tang, and with this ornate piece, it also indicated the owner's status. The bronze Viking ferrule is ideal for DIY knife making by craftsmen and is also perfect for Early Medieval reenactors.
