The original coin of this handcrafted early medieval bronze piece of jewelry is one of the oldest minted coins of the Viking Age from the 8th century. Originally, Carolingian coins were imitated, but this was soon replaced by coins minted with deer, heads, and ships as motifs. This coin was minted in Hedeby and found in Birka, proving that Vikings engaged in extensive trade. Jewelry like this is therefore perfect for Early Medieval fans, LARPers, and also as a special gift!
