This Viking hair & beard bead was hand-carved from a white bovine bone and depicts a Thor's hammer. Thor's hammer was a widely used piece of jewelry in the Early Middle Ages and was also worn by Viking women as a protective amulet, as evidenced by archaeological finds. The opening, with an inner diameter of approx. 4 mm, is well suited for fine hair and makes every hairstyle an eye-catcher.
