This early medieval Viking belt fitting from Gokstad with a rider is a replica and was handmade from robust bronze. The original, depicting a spearman, was found near the Swedish island of Gotland in a ship burial and is dated to the 10th century. On the back there are long pins that serve for fastening, by being driven through the leather and then carefully flattened with a hammer. The relic of the Viking belt fitting rider from Gokstad is suitable for 4 cm wide leather belts as a strap fitting and is perfect for early medieval reenactors and DIY fans who prefer to make their own unique Viking Age equipment themselves.
