Viking Brooch Set Horse Heads Birka in Bronze - Replica
This replica of a Viking brooch set with horse heads was made of robust bronze and originates as a grave good from Adelsö, near the Viking Age trading metropolis Birka. The original was dated to the 8th - 11th century and was elaborately crafted from silver with precious garnets, whereas here, more affordable glass flux was used. The horse brooches are mirrored, so they face each other and are an unusual find, as they are a rarity compared to the widespread oval brooches. On the back of the brooches there is a solid pin, which is also suitable for heavier fabrics. The Viking brooch set with horse heads made of bronze is therefore perfect for Early Medieval reenactment, the medieval market, and of course LARP.
