Steel Viking Axe with Wooden Handle - Hand-forged
This hand-forged Viking axe made of steel with a wooden handle was used as a tool in the everyday life of the Norsemen for chopping wood, shipbuilding, houses and furniture, or as a weapon in battle and on raids. This early medieval Viking axe has a head shape corresponding to Petersen Type M. This classic Viking axe is made of carbon steel and can, depending on modification, have its blade ground blunt for reenactment combat or, after resharpening, be used as a working axe. Historically, this type was not limited to Scandinavia, as archaeological finds in other parts of Europe well prove. This hand-forged Viking axe made of steel with a wooden handle is a wonderful decoration for weapon collectors and Viking fans, but is also suitable as a prop for Early Medieval Reenactment.
