The medieval surcoat Edelmann features a so-called chessboard pattern and was made from sturdy black cotton and a colored damask fabric. So-called damask fabric is created through a special weaving technique that produces an elaborate pattern, visible on both sides and with a shimmering look, something that perfectly suits every nobleman or noblewoman! The Edelmann surcoat has a slit at the bottom, as was common for cavalry surcoats in the Middle Ages, which also improves mobility. This noble surcoat is perfect for a medieval portrayal of wealthy and important individuals, for a medieval market, for LARP, and even for a wedding.
