The Late Medieval Kettle Hat was handcrafted from 1.6 mm thick steel and is a simple helmet type with a brim that originated in the High Middle Ages. The blackened inside has a riveted, adjustable leather inlay and an adjustable strap with a brass buckle to secure it. Our late medieval kettle hat is a replica of a French kettle hat from the late 15th century, as exhibited in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. It and similar variants were worn throughout Europe from the High Middle Ages by foot soldiers, archers, crossbowmen, pikemen and men-at-arms, making it perfect for medieval reenactment, medieval fans, cosplay and collectors. However, it is also suitable as a basic for beginners and fighting LARP characters who orient themselves to the real Middle Ages.
