The rapier is a thrusting and cutting weapon from the 16th century. It was made from high-quality carbon steel, is unsharpened, and both the hilt basket and pommel are made of polished brass. In front of the hilt basket, there is a ricasso on the blade, as was common at the time, meaning a dull section. Weapons like this first appeared in Italy and Spain as the era of heavy armor came to an end and were carried by noblemen, privateers, musketeers, and also citizens. This weapon is for decoration and is not suitable for combat!
