The mouthpiece for the bugle horn was made of solid brass and polished. As with a trumpet, the sound is produced solely by the pressure of the lips and, with a little practice, creates a pleasantly rich and clean tone. It must be attached DIY to a bugle or signal horn, for example with glue, whereby the horn may still need to be adjusted a little. Please remember that small bugle horns are usually a little harder to blow but produce a loud, bright sound, whereas a large signal horn is easier to blow and produces a deep, dark tone.
