From antiquity well beyond the Renaissance, splinters of wood were a widespread means of lighting. This version is a replica and was hand-forged according to historical models. The splinter is clamped into the mouth of the tongs and tilted according to the burning time. In addition, the holder is combined with a candle nozzle and has a pointed end for driving into wood. This candle holder is a perfect medieval decoration and also suitable for reenactment.
