Our Haubergeon, also often called a small hauberk, is a hip-length, half-sleeved medieval chainmail shirt. Chain armor similar to this was already common in Antiquity among Celts and Romans and was worn from the Vikings up to the 14th century in the Middle Ages. The individual chain rings are flat, made of robust spring steel and were riveted in the classic 4-in-1 weave, with a punched and a riveted ring alternating, which benefits the price. Thus, this chainmail offers excellent protection and is particularly suitable for medieval Reenactors who engage in show combat, buhurt (full contact), free fighting, and HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts), where protection is especially important.
To determine the size, we recommend putting on all undergarments that will later be worn under the chainmail (gambeson, padded doublet, etc.) and adding approx. 10 cm.
Material: Spring steel
Ring inner diameter: approx. 8 mm
Ring width: 1.8 mm
