Bow shears existed as early as the times of the Romans and Celts and were used until the Middle Ages, including the Early Middle Ages, by Vikings, Germanic tribes, and Franks, and later by the French, English, and Germans, as proven by archaeological finds from all these eras. This replica of bow shears was hand-forged from a single piece and, as a historical tool, it is a perfect accessory for reenactment, but also suitable for use by a craftsman and fits well as a decoration in a medieval workshop, for example next to a loom. Should the shears become dull, they can be easily resharpened.
