This medieval sallet with lifting visor is the suitable helmet for archers of the late Middle Ages of the 15th century. The sallet, developed from the kettle hat, replaced the previously common bascinet, was made in various variants and is part of the classic Gothic armour. This medieval archer's sallet with lifting visor is handmade from robust steel. The helmet has a movable visor and a still undeveloped neck guard, as found on Gothic sallets. It was decorated with a hand-beaten brass cross and engraved leaf motifs. The high-quality and adjustable leather inlay has a robust leather chin strap and is closed with a buckle.
This archer's sallet with lifting visor is the perfect medieval and Renaissance helmet for representations of the 15th and 16th centuries, but also fits some LARP fighter characters excellently, but it is NOT suitable for show combat!
Material: approx. 1.6 mm steel, brass, leather
Dimensions: up to approx. 69 cm head circumference
Weight: approx. 3 kg
