This hand-forged medieval axe head with spike from the 11th century is the classic weapon of simple medieval infantry in Europe. It is based on a find in Lutomiersk, Poland, and is typical for this period, being more functional than decorative. The axe head has been highly polished, has a slightly angled spike on the back, and still needs to be hafted. Thus, this 11th-century medieval axe head is perfect as a historical decoration in any knight's room of a medieval and DIY fan, for the medieval market, or for reenactment.
