About the author

Dr. Melanie Burgemeister studied history and comparative cultural studies, with a research focus on textile and clothing research. She has been sewing historical clothing since 2005 and opened the textile studio Faser und Stoff in 2018. There, she creates custom-made historical clothing based on current research.
