Annual Cycle Festivals Smudging

Eight major festivals have been handed down from the Celts: 4 sun festivals, the equinoxes in spring (Ostara) and autumn (Mabon), the shortest day in winter (Yule Festival/winter solstice) and the longest day in summer (Litha/summer solstice). In addition, there are the 4 moon festivals: Imbolc/Candlemas, the purification festival on February 1st-2nd, then Beltane/Walpurgis Night on May 1st, the spring festival, Lughnasadh/Lammas on August 1st, the first harvest festival, and finally Samhain on October 31st/November 1st, the festival of the dead and ancestors.

The festivals are meant to express joy of life and connection to nature, and are characterized by respect for the cycles and changes of nature.

The Wheel of the Year Smudging is intended to make the Celtic Wheel of the Year festivals tangible again and to revive the connection to the cycles of nature and their spiritual significance. The smudges are completely prepared and delivered in a resealable jar.
