This pair of Viking turtle brooches Öland, also known as oval brooches, were handmade from robust bronze and decorated in the Viking Age Borre style. They are an almost identical replica of a find from Öland/Sweden, which is now exhibited in the Swedish National Museum. This turtle brooch is a very special addition to the attire of a Viking woman, to which, for example, pearl necklaces can be attached. In the Early Middle Ages, they were worn in pairs by Viking women, attached to both straps of the Viking overdress or apron. This Viking turtle brooch has a sturdy needle on the inside, which can also be used to fasten strong and heavy fabrics, and an eyelet for attaching a chain or a chain distributor. These pieces of jewelry are therefore perfectly suited for Early Medieval Reenactment, LARP, and the Medieval Market, and thus a unique gift for every Viking woman.
