This large oval brooch, also known as a bowl brooch, is based on a find from the Early Middle Ages. Oval brooches were part of Viking women's clothing in the Early Middle Ages. On the underside of the brooch there is an eyelet with which even strong fabrics can be fastened. Bowl brooches have existed since the Vendel Period as a connection between apron and underdress, which is why they were also used in pairs. Our bowl brooch is therefore ideally suited for Viking reenactment, LARP and medieval markets.
