This richly decorated Germanic bracteate from Tjurkö made of bronze is a classic Germanic piece of jewelry from late antiquity and features a runic inscription in Elder Futhark. The runic inscription on the Tjurkö bracteate reads wurteruno?anwalhakurne ' helda?kunimudiu which roughly translates to: Helda? the Kunimundu? created the runes on the foreign grain. Only about a third of the found bracteates bear runes, and unfortunately, most of the texts can only be partially interpreted. The original dates from the 4th to 6th century and is based on a 19th-century find on the island of Tjurkö in Sweden. This Germanic bracteate from Tjurkö made of bronze is ideal for Germanic and Late Antiquity Reenactment, but also suits Nordic LARP characters.
