Our Early Medieval Spearhead for Reenactment was hand-forged from steel, polished, and is a reconstruction based on a museum find. The forged socket must be attached to a wooden shaft using a DIY method. You can drill two holes if necessary, but we recommend the more historical method of fitting the spearhead onto the adapted shaft and securing it with birch tar or another strong adhesive. Longer spears like this one were widespread in the early Middle Ages and were used very effectively by the Franks on horseback. The Early Medieval Spearhead is perfect for Frankish, Saxon, Bavarian, Alemannic reenactment and for display at medieval markets.
