This Early Medieval Anglo-Saxon amulet made of bronze is a replica of the famous Ixworth Cross dating from the Merovingian period. The original Ixworth Cross was found in 1856 in an early medieval grave in Ixworth, Suffolk, England and dated to the 7th century. It was made of pure gold with glass and garnet inlays and is now in the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. The cloisonné technique, whose name is also reflected in this Anglo-Saxon pendant, is a special craft technique that became widespread in Europe during the Merovingian period. This early medieval piece of jewelry is perfect for Early Medieval reenactment of Franks, Anglo-Saxons or Vikings or LARP.
