This Frankish strap fitting bird in S-shape from the Merovingian period is suitable for a 3 cm leather belt. The model is based on an S-shaped fibula from the Merovingian period found in the burial ground at Bajuwarenring in Ascheim, which was worn by many early medieval tribes such as the Bavarians, Alemanni, Lombards and Franks. On the back, the strap fitting has two pins, onto which small, included caps are simply placed for fastening and secured with a few light hammer blows. However, the Frankish strap fitting bird in S-shape from the Merovingian period is also suitable for leather bags and other equipment parts in LARP, Cosplay, early medieval re-enactment and the medieval market.
