This Frankish S-shaped bird strap fitting from the Merovingian period is suitable for a 3 cm leather belt. It is based on an S-shaped fibula from the Merovingian period found in the burial ground at Bajuwarenring in Ascheim, which was worn by many early medieval tribes such as the Bavarians, Alamanni, Lombards and Franks. The strap fitting has two pins on the back, onto which small, supplied caps are simply placed for fastening and secured with a few light hammer blows. The Frankish S-shaped bird strap fitting from the Merovingian period is also suitable for leather bags and other equipment in LARP, Cosplay, Early Medieval re-enactment and the medieval market.
