This early medieval Viking protective amulet Uppakra in the Borre style was handcrafted from robust bronze. It is based on a find in Scandinavia, bears a rough resemblance to a Celtic cross and ends at the four corners with faces decorated in the so-called Borre style. It probably stands for the four dwarfs from Norse mythology who support the heavenly realm and are also supposed to correspond to the cardinal directions: Nordri, Sudri, Austri and Vestri, and is intended to offer protection to its wearer. This pendant is the ideal piece of jewelry for Vikings and other people from the early Middle Ages.

It can be attached to a chain or leather strap via its ring and worn around the neck, on armor, or on the wrist.
