This replica of a detailed Vendel Age belt fitting from Valsgarde was cast from robust bronze and is suitable for straps 2.5 to 3 cm wide. The original find, made of gold, depicts two intertwined snake-like animals and was dated to the Early Middle Ages of the 6th century, often referred to as the Vendel Period. This means that this belt fitting dates from a time immediately preceding the Viking Age and is decorated in the so-called Vendel style or animal style. On the back are four pins that must be guided through the material and carefully bent over.
