This Norman Knight with shield and axe comes from the Frankish Empire and is considered a descendant of the Vikings. It is highly detailed and hand-painted. Its axe as a main weapon is striking, a rarity among knights at that time, and probably harks back to his Scandinavian ancestors. In his left hand, he carries an infantry shield with a knight's cross for protection. A one-handed sword with scabbard is attached to his belt as a secondary weapon. The Norman Knight is protected by chainmail over which he wears a surcoat with a cross. A Norman helmet with a visor plate sits on his head. The Norman Knight is therefore a perfect decoration for fans of Vikings and knights.
