This Medieval Wax Tablet Set, also known as a diptych by the Romans, consists of a wooden wax tablet with a total of four writable fields, a brass stylus for incising words, and an accompanying leather pouch that can be attached to a belt. The flat back of the stylus can be used to smooth out the writing in the wax, and since paper was precious, these types of wax tablets were used from antiquity until the early modern period.
