This simple yet robust medieval buckler for re-enactment combat is also known as a fist shield and was made from robust armor steel. A leather-wrapped handle is riveted to the back. Bucklers, or fist shields, enjoyed great popularity and widespread use from the High Middle Ages into the Renaissance. Combined with a one-handed sword, they are suitable for defense as well as attack and are perfect for medieval reenactment and re-enactment combat.
