This Kievan Rus decorative rivet in a rhombus shape for 4 cm straps is based on a Viking Age Kievan Rus caftan clasp from the Early Middle Ages of the 10th century. These diamond-shaped caftan clasps were extremely popular among the Varangians of Kievan Rus, the Magyars, and the Avars. The motif of the decorative rivet corresponds to a Viking Age find from the Ukrainian city of Chernihiv. The Kievan Rus decorative rivet in a rhombus shape is also suitable as a fitting on historical bags or leather equipment for Early Medieval re-enactors, LARPers, and visitors to medieval markets.
