This richly decorated Germanic Berlock pendant made of bronze is one of the most outstanding pieces of jewelry from late Antiquity. It was crafted after a historical model from the Roman Imperial period and is based on a find from Varnhem in Västergötland/Sweden from the period 100 - 200 AD. However, further finds in the Elbe region and in Poland attest to its wide distribution in Europe among the Germanic peoples. The Berlock is a typical Germanic piece of jewelry, and it is presumed that it was worn by high-ranking Germanic women as a necklace, as many finds were made of gold. This Germanic Berlock pendant made of bronze is ideal for Germanic and Roman reenactment and ancient LARP characters.
