The semi-circular Early Medieval Avar belt fitting was made of bronze and is designed for 1.5 cm straps. On the back of the Avar belt fitting there are three rivet pins. These are threaded through corresponding holes in the leather, and the tip of the rivet pin is bent slightly inwards with pliers. If the rivet pins are then hammered flat, the tip sinks into the leather and the Avar strap fitting is stably and flushly attached to the belt. Fittings like this date from the 7th century of the Early Middle Ages and were widespread among the equestrian people of the Avars and significant for rank, status, and clan. The semi-circular Early Medieval Avar belt fitting made of bronze is suitable for Early Medieval Reenactment, LARP, medieval markets, and DIY fans.
