This replica of an Early Medieval Avar belt fitting in the shape of a griffin was handcrafted from robust bronze. This detailed belt fitting dates from the Merovingian period and is based on a historical find from Vrap in present-day Albania. On the back there are long pins that serve to fasten it by being driven through the leather and then carefully flattened with a hammer. The Early Medieval Avar belt fitting Griffin is ideal for DIY crafters. It fits best on 2.5 - 3 cm wide belts, but is also suitable for decorating bags and other equipment for medieval markets, cosplay and LARP.
