Made from aluminum using classic minting techniques with a hand-engraved die, it possesses an \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cfont face=\"Arial\"\u003e\u003cfont size=\"5\"\u003eauthentic look and high level of detail. At the beginning of the 16th century, the Lords of Schlick discovered such a large silver deposit in the Ore Mountains that they founded the city of Joachimsthal there. King Ludwig I (1516–1526) granted them the privilege to mint their own large silver coin, and the smaller Quarter Thaler also came from Joachimsthal, where it was minted from 1519–1526. The reverse features the figure of Saint Joachim (Sanctus Iochimus), the patron saint of miners, in the center, and the family coat of arms of the Lords of Schlick.
